Silvina Hecker

Silvina Hecker is a mixed media artist and her work is to rethink human communication using
shapes, colors, and abstract textures. Her ongoing project, Today’s Sketch, consist of making a
collage then leaving it in a specific location, taking a photograph of it there, and to relinquishing
control of what happens next. Hecker is currently participating in the Block Program of the Glassell
School of Art at The Museum of Fine Arts, and recently completed her Certificate in Painting at
the Glassell. She has studied with many artists and craft practitioners in the U.S., Argentina, and
the Caribbean. She has shown her work in national and international juried exhibitions and has
her work in private collections. She holds a BA in Business from Universidad Católica Argentina,
Buenos Aires. Hecker born in Argentina, lived in the Caribbean from 2001 until 2008, and moved
to Houston in 2009.
