On Saturday, April 26th, please join us at the beautiful, central Austin home of Peggy O’Shaughnessy for a night of high style and conversation. In past years, our spring events have been noted as tour de force parties (deemed the Best Art Fundraiser of the Year by Stephen Moser of The Austin Chronicle and Gatsbyesque by Michael Barnes in the Austin American-Statesman). Our annual spring party will also be a night to savor. With funds raised, we will bring more of the art of our time to Austin and introduce the joy and wonder of art to more than 950 students in underserved schools.
As THIRST, our large-scale installation on Lady Bird Lake exemplified, Women & Their Work creates opportunities for artists to take risks and ask powerful questions about our world. We serve as a vital hub for contemporary art and bring national attention to Austin.
Women & Their Work is a one-of-a-kind statewide, nonprofit organization. Presenting more than 50 events a year, we have been featured in The New York Times, the Huffington Post, and on National Public Radio and KLRU, as well as Art In America, and ArtForum. We’ve also been supported as an exemplary art organization by the Andy Warhol Foundation and the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. For 36 years, we have showcased some of the most engaging, original contemporary art in Texas. We create professional opportunities for artists and provide enriching educational activities for audiences of all ages. Through our arts education programs, we give primary and secondary students direct contact with visual art, music, drama and dance through gallery tours with exhibiting artists, participatory workshops and in-school performances.
Your contribution will help us continue the groundbreaking spirit of Women & Their Work, enrich the lives of thousands of schoolchildren and maintain the vibrancy of art in Austin and beyond. Help us help art thrive in Austin! We would be deeply grateful for your support!
We invite you to help us sustain our important work by being an event sponsor of a striking, spirited event—our 2014 Star BASH.
