Women & Their Work seeks artists who create inventive, high-caliber contemporary art that breaks new ground or proposes innovative approaches to form and content. Women & Their Work requests applications for our 2016 – 2017 Solo Exhibition Series.
Selections are based on an evaluation of the work you submit; we look for a strong, consistent aesthetic vision. We encourage selected artists to create new work; no work that has previously been exhibited in Austin will be accepted for exhibition. The work in the application should demonstrate that you are capable in vision and scope of creating a powerful solo exhibition that commands the 1,700 square foot gallery.

Women & Their Work provides opportunities for ambitious work made by women artists living in Texas. Please apply online by August 19, 2015.
August 19, 2015: Deadline for all applications online.
October 1, 2015: Notification to all applicants.
May 2016 – May 2017: Exhibitions will be scheduled for six-week periods between these dates.
Women artists residing in Texas who have not had a solo exhibition at Women & Their Work within the past five years are eligible. Recently created work in all media will be considered. Artists must be able to exhibit their work by May, 2016. We strongly encourage artists to create new work for exhibition at Women & Their Work. We will choose artists to premier in 6-week solo exhibitions occurring between May 2016 and May 2017.

1) 2-D & 3-D Images, Videos
Applicants should upload ten images of 2-D, 3-D or video work.

- File resolution: 72 ppi/dpi (standard web resolution)
- File size: 5 MB maximum
3) Artist’s Statement
Include a one-page statement describing your work, your aesthetic vision, and your plans for a future solo exhibition here.
Upload a current resume. Do not include announcements, catalogs, reviews, or letters; they will not be reviewed.
5) Application Processing Fee
A $25 processing fee is required. This year we are using CaFE, a widely used online application, which should make the uploading process simple and clear for you.
The gallery is approximately 1,700 square feet with 10.5 feet high ceilings, track lighting and seven moveable walls. Projectors and sound equipment are available.
The 2016 – 2017 Solo Exhibition Series jury panel will be comprised of arts professionals from other cities, artists who have had a solo show here in the past, and gallery staff. Every applicant is carefully reviewed, considered and discussed.

Women & Their Work will award an honorarium of $600 to the artists who are selected for our 2016 – 2017 Solo Exhibition Series. Our gallery staff will work with you to help you achieve all aspects of your vision. We will provide a curatorial advisor for the development of your work and commission a writer to write about your work. The catalog we publish featuring your work will be sent to over 100 galleries and museums throughout the country.
You will receive 75% of the sale price of any work sold during your exhibition.
LIABILITY & AGREEMENT
Women & Their Work agrees to insure artwork while in its custody. Artists are responsible for transportation of artwork to and from Women & Their Work gallery. Artists agree to exhibit work that has not previously been shown in Austin.
