Artist Statement

My serial work is concerned with the movement of thought processes, memories, and ideas. This is never a linear, clearly defined progression, but fragments, layers, and traces of a journey. The markings, words, and images (weighted equally in importance and evocative power) can only partially convey the construction of thoughts as they travel through our minds and how we arrive at a memory. Each panel of a series presents a tenuous step in a continuum, with links to the panels before and after it. The beginning, process, and end, however, inextricably mixed together.
