Monica Vidal

Falling Hive is based on a childhood dream that Monica Vidal had of a world saturated in blue. Walking through an arctic wasteland, she came to the edge of any icy pit where shades of blue descended in jagged, parallel lines. She tried to climb down and ended up falling through an azure prism. This vivid memory, in its beauty and darkness, was the inspiration for the pattern and palette of Falling Hive which is an expression of this energy and joy. Vidal notes that, “Circus tents are, to me, the ultimate in portable happiness but with an uncanny edge.”
