Fresh from the Studio is a virtual program for W&TW artist members to share what they are working on now. During 10-minute presentations, each artist will present work in progress, newly finished artworks, and recent or upcoming projects. Fresh from the Studio is your chance to see what is new and hear from contemporary artists. This program is free and open to the public.

In this Fresh from the Studio, we will hear from artists Hannah Spector, Elizabeth Gerberich, and Shannon Faseler.

About the Artists

Hannah Spector combines video, performance, printmaking, and installation to understand the body as an alternate archive. Her work is grounded in theory and poetry—orienting her within a deep appreciation of language. She holds a MFA in Printmaking and Transmedia from The University of Texas at Austin and a BA in Creative Writing and English Literature focused in Poetry, Critical Theory, and Philosophy from The George Washington University. She is also a professor of art at The University of Texas at Austin and Texas State University.

Elizabeth Gerberich is a multimedia artist and illustrator who believes in the ability to build community power through accessible information and creative design. Her work utilizes ink, watercolor, and printmaking to create detailed, whimsical illustrations. She received her BA in Anthropology and Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, where she is now a Department Supervisor in the UT Libraries.

Shannon Faseler works in a variety of media, she strongly believes in an interdisciplinary approach to the visual arts. Her works are based on climate change and its practical effects on the planet including floods, glaciers, and drought-affected landscapes. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she received a BFA in Studio art. She also holds a MFA in painting and drawing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
