M.A.L.I. Women’s Conference
Austin, TX — The M.A.L.I Women’s Film & Performance Arts Conference will highlight industry workshops, visual artist, independent, national and international women filmmakers and musicians. The theme this year is “Sustainability Within”. This conference is part media literacy and performance, part film/television and literary marketplace and is open to the public and we welcome everyone to join in on the fun.

The Impact Of Visual Language On Culture Keynote Address by Chris Cowden.
The purpose of this event is to increase the awareness of women’s issues, media and artistic work throughout the state of Texas and internationally. All four nights will feature shorts, feature-length films and performances by female directors, musicians, literary artists, dance, and new media makers.

This four-day conference will be held at the newly renovated Hampton Inn & Suite Austin-Airport, Carver Museum & Cultural Center, Mexican American Cultural Center, Dominican Joe, El Sol Y la Luna, Lipstick 24, Bookwoman, Stomping Ground and Strange Brew.
The proceeds benefit our M.A.L.I. summer media camp for at risk teen girls, the rebuilding of our community production lab, our yearly programming and our production grants to media artist in Texas, nationally and internationally.
