About the speakers
Jill Bedgood creates multi-media art that reflects her questioning of the duality of human nature. She has a BFA in Painting and Art History from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and MFA from The University of Texas at Austin in Sculpture and Art History. Grants include Visiting Artist Residencies at the American Academy in Rome and a Residency at the Rockefeller Foundation’s Conference Center in Bellagio, Italy. Other grants include New Forms Regional Initiatives Grant, funded by the Rockefeller, Andy Warhol Foundation, NEA, Mid-America Arts Association/National Endowment for the Arts Award in Sculpture, and Art Matters Inc. Grant. She was a fellow at the MacDowell Colony and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
Katie Robinson Edwards, Ph.D., is Curator of the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum. In addition to curating exhibitions and writing on Texas art, she has written on Chuck Close, Jackson Pollock, Robert Rauschenberg, Jessica Stockholder, Andrew Wyeth, and Jamie Wyeth. She taught modern and contemporary art at the Allbritton Art Institute at Baylor University for eight years.
Steve Wiman is an assemblage artist and owner of an unusual antique store in Austin, Texas, Uncommon Objects. Steve is a graduate of the University of North Texas and attended graduate art school at the University of Texas.
