Brie Ashlie

Brie Ashlie is a Houston-based mixed media painter working primarily in acrylics, drawing from photographs of her surroundings. Her layered, collage-like process—both intuitive and exploratory—guides paintings that explore intimacy, connection, and the ambiguity of self, often blurring the boundary between subject and composition.

Brie has exhibited in several group shows and curated exhibitions. She received her BFA from Texas State University, including a study abroad program in Florence, and her MFA from Washington University in St. Louis. Her work is held in select private collections. In addition to her studio practice, she works at Laura Rathe Fine Art in Houston.
