

Danielle Mbenda
Born in Cameroon, Danielle Mbenda hails from Austin, Texas where she continued developing her passion and artistic creativity. She graduated from Virginia Tech University and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Her creations give voice to the silent woman. Behind each of them, there is a story. And whoever acquires her art, acquires the story behind it, a part of her.
Mbenda’s creativity is not limited to creating amazing works of art, she is also a book writer, a content creator, a passionate of versatile fashion, and she loves to share all of that with others.
In 2022, Mbenda received a commission from LinkedIn for the Afrotech 2022 event. In 2021, Mbenda received a grant from the Black Art Matters Organization for a textile art project. She also won the Talent Awards for the “color” competition by Art Show International Gallery.
Mbenda has exhibited at multiple shows and galleries in the US and abroad including the 500x Gallery, the Contemporary Art Gallery, the Trolley Barn Gallery, the Art Show International Gallery, and the Biafarin Gallery. Her work has been reviewed and selected for the Red Dot Art Spree in 2021 and 2024 by the Women and Their Work organization in Austin, TX. Mbenda’s work has also been featured in the Artistonish Magazine and the Colorium Publication by the Biafarin Gallery.
According to Mbenda, “Through my creations, I give a voice to those women, men, and youth who have been or are going through some tough times, whether it’s the loss of a parent, the loss of a child, betrayal from close ones, domestic violence, no support, or a nasty divorce, and
for one reason or another, they can’t not only share what they go through, but they also can’t figure out how to unstuck themselves.”
