J Muzacz
J Muzacz is a mosaicist, muralist, public artist, and educator with nearly two decades of experience creating landmark artworks. Producing cutting-edge artwork at the intersection of antiquity and advanced technology, his mosaic artworks blend contemporary photography with ancient handmade processes of mosaic-making.
Muzacz’s artistic career has evolved naturally from travel, collaboration with diverse communities, and a social practice involving education, having studied Sociology and been a teacher for over a decade. Muzacz has nearly 20 years of experience creating public art, facilitating community dialogue, and empowering community members to participate in its ideation and creation. In 2018, he co-founded The Mosaic Workshop, where people of all ages and abilities can learn the art of mosaic making through hands-on workshops and ambitious community-led mosaic murals.
Muzacz has created over 30 painted murals since 2020, including his largest yet at over 4,000 sqft, along with over 15 landmark mosaic murals.
