Jessie Marie

Jessie Marie is a visual artist based in New Orleans whose creative journey began in the performing arts before evolving into photography. Her passion for image-making was sparked during a formative trip to New York City, where she discovered the architectural lines and shapes that continue to influence her work today. In 2004, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C., establishing an ethos of limiting interpretation and creating space for viewers to engage through their own experiences. After two decades as a military spouse and mother, Jessie re-emerged as an artist in 2021, inspired by her grandfather’s late-life artistic pursuits. Now rooted in New Orleans, she continues to explore themes of perception and authenticity with the depth of her life experience, offering work that reflects both continuity and transformation.
