Karn Knutson
Karn Knutson focuses on figurative abstract expressionism, and has been creating oil monotypes for decades. Also working in watercolors, pastels, and mixed media, Karn sells art around the world, participates in individual and group shows, is carried by various galleries, and has work in
multiple corporate collections.
Karn received a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art & Design with an emphasis in Visual Communication. Karn has a career in advertising and design, reaching the level of Creative Director at BBDO Minneapolis, and is a freelance Art Director in the US and abroad for non-profits, start-ups, and entrepreneurs. Karn is also a writer and illustrator of satirical and children’s books and has licensed art for day planners and various products.
Karn is exploring the world from home bases in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Nicaragua, and now Austin, TX.
