Marie Ketring
Marie Ketring is a multi-discipline artist working in silver gelatin and alternative process photography and filmmaking. Born in New Mexico, raised in North Dakota, and settled in Austin, Texas, her interest in photography stems from its unique storytelling capabilities.
She graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a focus in filmmaking. Her work has been exhibited across Texas and New Mexico working with themes of ecological fragility and the value of human labor.
Her work is rooted in analogue techniques that show the evidence of human hands and the unexpected nature of chemical image making. She is currently working on a photographic series inspired by tourist postcards of the Southwest.
