Nathalie Lagacé

Although it all started with painting, it is her surrealist works, created with graphite pencils, that have made Nathalie Lagacé stand out. Sponsored by Koh-I-Noor USA, she has specialized in this medium for over ten years now. Her works have been exhibited in several galleries, including La Luz De Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles and Arch Enemy Arts Gallery in Philadelphia, and have also been featured in HI FRUCTOSE and BEAUTIFUL DECAY Magazines.

Graduated in graphic design from Cégep du Vieux Montréal, Lagacé took her first steps into the professional world as a television designer. However, her desire to take on challenges led her to leave her office routine to become a bus driver. An adventure full of twists and turns, but above all, a revealing moment: she can’t live without creating.

Since then, she has devoted herself to the marriage of words and images, favouring themes where equality, empathy, self-respect, and respect for others are treated with finesse and kindness. Under a delicate and poetic writing, she accompanies her texts with enveloping illustrations, images that often move — gently — because of their astonishing incongruity and the strong message they carry.
