Rae Pleasant
Rae Pleasant is an African American woman artist living in North Texas, born in 1985, as a descendant of the Tulsa Race Massacre in Greenwood District, Tulsa, OK. Pleasant’s artwork is created for her own pleasure as cathartic escapism and creative exploration. Her heritage, life experiences, immediate environment, and nature all inspire her artistic process. Pleasant uses recycled or economical materials to create illustrations, paintings, two-dimensional sculptures, and textile pieces. She shares her art in community spaces for the enjoyment of diverse audiences.
