

Shannon Cannings
Shannon Cannings grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA. She received her BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA and her MFA from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY, both degrees in Painting. Cannings lives in Lubbock, Texas and has taught at Texas Tech University for 25 years where she was recently promoted to Assistant Professor of Practice in Drawing. Cannings is currently represented by Anya Tish Gallery in Houston, Cris Worley Fine Arts in Dallas, and at Charles Adams Gallery in Lubbock. Cannings has been a Hunting Prize finalist 4 times, and has had her work included in New American Painting, the Texas Biennial, several art fairs and museum exhibitions, two books, and many solo and group shows in 14 states.
