Gallery & Marketing Coordinator 

Women & Their Work seeks a full time Gallery & Marketing Coordinator. We are a contemporary visual and performing arts organization that for 47 years has brought groundbreaking art created by women to Austin. We work collaboratively as a team to present over 70 exhibitions, performances and education programs a year.

The Gallery & Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in this effort and will work closely with all staff to ensure smooth gallery operations and to produce effective marketing campaigns. This position assists with the day to day management of the gallery, provides administrative support and oversight of volunteers and interns. This position’s marketing responsibilities include generating and implementing marketing strategies for each program/event, operating all social media accounts, and maintaining the website. This position will design print and digital materials for exhibitions, programs, and special events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with gallery operations including opening and closing gallery, caretaking of exhibitions, managing front desk interns, and helping to create a welcoming environment for all gallery visitors.
  • Assist the Gallery Director, preparators, and exhibiting artists with installation/deinstall of exhibitions.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans promoting all exhibitions, events, programs, fundraisers and the organization in general.
  • Manage all social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube), coordinate social media campaigns, create content, and track performance.
  • Lead all design & production efforts (print & digital) required to support exhibitions, programs, and special events including invitations, signage, gallery guides, catalogs, and other materials.
  • Manage digital and print collateral including maintaining the website.
  • Provide administrative support for the organization.
  • Set up and participate in opening receptions, public programs, and performances.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment while managing multiple tasks
  • Flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities
  • Strong written and visual communications skills
  • Well-organized and excellent attention to detail
  • Self-directed and able to work with a small staff and volunteers

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge and interest in contemporary art
  • Social media management, content creation, and campaign development
  • Graphic design (print and online)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Web development and maintenance: WordPress

Preferred experience:

  • Experience working in an art gallery and installing art
  • Experience in a non-profit setting
  • Video editing and production
  • 2D animation- motion graphics
  • Photography

Schedule:
Typical schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 10-6 pm; including some evenings to participate in W&TW programs and events.

Salary and benefits: $52,000

  • Health insurance and vacation provided.
