Join us for a conversation in the gallery about Surface with artist Meg Aubrey and special guests Erika Huddleston, Marta Lee, Naomi Schlinke and Sydney Yeager. The talk will be moderated by Annie Miller. TalkAbout is a program that facilitates casual conversations with artists and the people who inspire them.

Meg Aubrey received a MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. She has shown extensively in Georgia including at the Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia. She currently lives and works in Corpus Christi, Texas and is an Assistant Professor of Art at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi.

Erika Huddleston attended the University of Texas-Austin for a masters of landscape architecture and has painted major bodies of work onsite at Waco Creek in Waco, Shoal Creek in Austin, and the Trinity River in Dallas. She was an artist with bcWORKSHOP in Dallas for the “Activating Vacancy” project in the Tenth Street Historic District, funded by the National Endowment of the Arts.

Marta Lee earned her MFA in Painting from the University of Texas-Austin and her BFA in two-dimensional art from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She has participated in group exhibitions across the country including a recent exhibition at the Abrons Art Center in New York.

Naomi Schlinke has exhibited her work at numerous venues across Texas and in San Francisco, CA. Schlinke earned a BA and MA in dance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She had a solo exhibition at Women & Their Work and has an upcoming exhibition at the Dougherty Arts Center in Austin.

Sydney Yeager earned a MFA and BFA from the University of Texas-Austin. She is represented by Shoal Creek Gallery in Austin and Laura Rathe Gallery in Houston. She has exhibited extensively across Texas including at Women & Their Work.

Annie Miller holds an MFA in Painting from The University of Texas at Austin and a BFA in Painting and Drawing from California State University Fullerton. She has exhibited in group shows throughout the country and has a forthcoming solo exhibition at the Courtyard Gallery in Austin.  Annie lives in Austin, TX and is a lecturer in Studio Art at Texas State University and The University of Texas at Austin.
