A Brazilian native, Austin artist Regina Vater used metaphor to counterpoint myths from the Amazon forest with images from European culture. Vater has exhibited throughout the Southwest and in New York, and by 1989 had most recently shown at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston and at the Clocktower, Franklin Furnace Archive, and Alternative Museum in New York.
