Ivette Ramos Levy

Ivette Ramos Levy is a Mexican-American multidisciplinary artist based in Fort Worth, Texas. Working across painting, installation, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, and mixed media, she investigates how bureaucratic, social, and cultural systems shape the body over time. Her work examines how these systems become internalized, leaving traces that persist beyond official documents and emerge through language, behavior, memory, and perception.

Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Ramos Levy holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and has pursued additional studies in ceramics, painting, and glass in Mexico, Italy, and the United States. Drawing from her own sixteen-year immigration process, she developed I Am a Body in Transit, an ongoing body of work that considers waiting as a lived condition rather than a temporary state. Through bureaucracy, displacement, repetition, transformation, and internalized borders, the work examines what prolonged systems leave behind in the body.

Ramos Levy has exhibited throughout Texas, including solo exhibitions at Goldmark Cultural Center and Art on Main in Dallas, with work presented at Arts Fort Worth, Art Center Waco, Bath House Cultural Center, Texas Woman’s University, Artspace111, and Craighead Green Gallery. In 2026, she was selected to participate in Texas Vignette Art Fair in Dallas. In 2023, she received First Prize at the 17th Texas Artists Coalition Juried Exhibition. A solo exhibition is scheduled for 2027 at the Greater Denton Arts Council in Denton, Texas.

She currently serves as a bilingual docent at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, facilitating conversations about contemporary art for diverse audiences.
